Grow It is the type of manual you want to have on your book shelf when you are learning to grow your natural and or permed hair. Chicoro teaches women how to grow their afro-textured hair bit by bit. Throughout this manual Chicoro uses hair terminology that helps you to understand why you have damaged, dry, brittle hair that has stopped growing. She split the book into three parts, totaling up to 15 chapters. The first part of the book starts with Chapters 1-4 and Chicoro shares her story of how she discovered she had damaged hair and her journey of learning more about her hair. She shares personal hair triumphs and tragedies that helped her discover the skills she explains in this short manual. The second part of the book starts with Chapters 5-8 where she begins explaining "The Grow It Process" and the third part of the book ends with Chapters 9-15 where she break down six steps that helps you grow healthier hair. Chicoro is very knowledgeable of the products one needs to grow longer hair, regardless if it’s growing in a natural state and or permed state. The best part about this book is that Chicoro lists the specific ingredients that one needs to be mindful of when growing healthier and longer hair. For example, she states that one needs to look for protein extracts in your conditioners such as panthenol, silk protein and amino acids, and collagen. This book is recommended for anyone who is looking to get the ultimate length they desire.
