Super Rich: A Guide To Having It All by Russell Simmons with Chris Morrow / 197 pages. Read in 37 days

Russell Simmons shared valuable techniques on how a person can become rich in life by gaining a conscious of needing nothing. Simmons stated early in this book that the term Super Rich “refers to living in a state of consciousness where you’re able to see the miracles of life unfolding in front of you all the time”. Simmons expressed the importance of understanding how being in the state of “needing nothing” is how you are going to actually get everything. Simmons emphasized in his book that being super rich does not refer to having any sort of material abundance. How a person gets to a state of becoming super rich is by meditating into a state of mind where you can think consciously and quietly. Simmons stated that this type of conscious thinking brings more happiness than one can imagine. Simmons quoted that “When you’re Super Rich you’ll be able to see that happiness is actually a state of needing nothing”. Simmons stated that we (individuals) have to approach life like riding a subway, if you realize you are going the wrong way, you simply get off, go to the other side of the tracks and get on the train that is going in the other direction. Simmons stated that when one is meditating at least 20 minutes a day, they are learning how to be “completely aware of and completely at ease with everything around him” (or her). Becoming Super Rich is about learning how to share your gift with the world, giving without any expectations and giving until society cannot live without it; learning how to achieve a union with God; learning how to become a by-product of an enlightened mentality where you will not get too excited about good or bad news; learning how to say thank you when you’re being criticized or corrected; and learning how to focus on being blessed instead of getting caught up with daily problems. Overall, reading this book, one can definitely learn patience, how to meditate, and understand the importance of stillness and how it positively impacts our present/future, and how it nourishes our dreams and imagination. Even through the meditation terminology used in this book and the introduction to another level of meditation titled “Transcendental Meditation (TM)”.
