Jessica, Ellie, Shereen, and Yolanda are proud to be members of the Theta Phi Kappa Sorority. The fabulous four met during their sophomore year at Howard University. They endure trial and tribulations that result in finding out what the sisterhood is like. Each was brought to the sorority through different paths. Although they were brought to the same sorority build friendship and sisterhood, they still were so different from one another but their difference could not keep them from hanging in there with one another. During their pledging years at Howard University, Jessica got sexually involved with her professor Dr. Bell but after Andrew tries to end the relationship when he finds out that she is pregnant, she tells the Dean that she was raped by Professor Bell. After the investigation began, and knowing that this could affect him as a professor and a husband, Dr. Bells decides that it is all too much to bear. So he kills himself by running into an 18 wheeler. Knowing that the alleged rape was a lie, Jessica and her sisters were forced to keep the secret that would have damaged them academically as well. They vowed to never share the secret again but after killing her unborn baby, and ten years of success and moving on with their lives; they still are haunted by this secret. Someone who feels directly affected by this secret attempts to destroy Jessica and the girls in every way possible. The threats start with letters, phone calls, and ends with physical appearances by Denise, Dr. Bell’s daughter. Denise discovered at an early age that Jessica was responsible for her father’s death, so she spent years planning to make her pay for it. Denise was aware that the rape was a lie and she wanted Jessica to suffer. Denise tries to do just that by stalking Jessica and holding her and her friends captive but after getting in a struggle with Ellie, Jessica gains room to jump on Denise and strangle her as tight as she can. But right when she was getting ready to squeeze harder, Denise and Jessica have a serious stare down where they eventually share a moment of pain and relieve themselves of tears from the current fight, previous threats, and years of war.
